The agreed-upon purchase price for a puppy is $xxxx. The payments are to be made as follows:

1) $200 when added to the waitlist - The initial deposit ensures in good faith that said puppy will be provided to the buyer. The deposit is non-refundable but is transferable to a future litter.

2) $300 the week the pups are born

3) $500 when the buyer picks a puppy

4) The balance is due prior to shipping or pick up and may be paid by cash, certified cheque, money order or e-mail transfer, payable to Kim Rappe (kimrappe@gmail.com).

It is understood that the puppy will remain with its litter until no less then 8 weeks old. The pup is ready for pick-up at 8 weeks, starting xxxxxxxxx, unless other arrangements have been made. It is understood that the puppy has been brought to the Veterinarian, by the seller, for an examination and his/her first set of shots, at 7 or 8 weeks. The puppy has been de-wormed three times by the seller and at the time of the vet appointment a microchip was implanted. The microchip in the chosen puppy will be registered in the seller’s name, however, the buyer may switch it to their information.

It is understood that at the time of sale, this dog is a good representation of its breed and is suited as a companion/pet dog. The puppy has a health warranty until she/he is two years of age. This warranty covers debilitating or life-threatening hereditary/congenital diseases including hip dysplasia (mild-severe), vWD (affected) , hereditary, debilitating cardiac issues and/or hereditary disabling eye diseases (excluding entropion). It is recommended that the puppy be taken to the veterinarian by the buyer, within 72 hours after pickup, though it is not required. No vaccinations are due nor do we believe any other additional vaccines should be given until he or she is 12 weeks old, on xxxxxxx. If the Buyer’s Veterinarian should find this puppy to have a life-threatening illness or disease, or is found to have a life-altering genetic defect, within 5 business days of the puppy leaving the breeder, the buyer will have 7 days to return the puppy to the breeder, along with Vet record of illness, that was given with the puppy. Either a full refund of the price of the puppy will be given, less the $300 deposit, or the puppy will be replaced with another puppy of equal value. Medical proof of any claim must be provided to the seller's Veterinarian at buyer’s cost, including a statement that unequivocally states it is a hereditary disease that could not have been caused by environment, diet or injury. Should the dog have any illness in the first year of its life, the full cost of the dog will be refunded to the family and they may keep their pet if they so choose. Please note that we do not guarantee for proper bite, and/or against umbilical hernias, as these do not affect the “pet quality” of the dog and are not life-threatening. We also do not compensate for gastric dilation/bloat. The warranty excludes parasites, coccidia, giardia or an easily treated illness, many of which can be brought on by the stress of being re-homed. It is understood that by purchasing this puppy the buyer assumes responsibility for any "non-hereditary" health issues, regular vet visits, as well as proper training and grooming. The buyer waives any rights to compensation other than what is stated on this contract.

All shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer. If within one month of purchase the buyer decides to return the dog for any other reason (not health related) the buyer will be refunded less the deposit and expenses of the breeder (training, vet, food, etc) to return it to an acceptable selling state.

The following are strong recommendations to assist in maintaining a healthy dog:

  1. Although getting a puppy is exciting and it is tempting to show him or her off please take caution as to where you take your new puppy until the entire series of puppy shots has been given (usually between 16-17 weeks of age). Avoid dog parks, rest areas, etc. Only allow the puppy to interact with dogs you know, who are up to date on their vaccinations.

  2. Do not allow your dog to drink free standing water while outside. Only fresh water that you provide.

  3. Food does matter to the overall health of your puppy.

  4. Environmental factors can contribute to the health of your puppy, so be mindful of them

  5. Be mindful of long walks and rough play and jumping up and down. Damage can occur to growing bones. When you have two dogs, monitor activity. It is recommended to walk only 5 minutes per month of age, until 8-10 months

  6. Be mindful of toxic cleaning supplies in your home. Dogs lick surfaces and their paws. Individually chemicals maybe safe but combined they may not be.

It is not recommended to change the puppy’s food often or at all and we strongly recommend the use of their kibble as treats and for training. They are currently eating Purina Pro Plan Large Breed Puppy (up to two years). Purina Pro Plan is a proven high quality food and we highly recommended to stay on this formula. A sample will be provided to the buyer at time of pick up. Please consider staying with Purina Pro Plan, or other well-established brands that spend time and money on the long-term health of dogs. If you switch, it should be gradually. It is required to feed the puppy a puppy formula dog food until age 12 months, not an all life stages food. An all stage dog formula is not recommended and may cause problems. At 12-24 months the puppy should be switched to Purina Pro Plan large breed adult. This warranty is void if an all stage dog food is used or if the pup is fed RAW (unless directed by your vet) or any type of rotten food.

If this dog is found to be neglected or abused, the seller reserves the right to take immediate possession of the dog. The dog is not suitable to live outdoors and is being sold as an indoor dog. The heat/cold is extremely dangerous to dogs. The dog is never to be left in a car, always provided fresh, clean water and food and water bowls should be regularly washed.

Beginning training classes around 12 weeks is highly recommended to ensure a good relationship with the dog and to help with stimulation and curbing bad behaviour. Crate training and/or safe area is also encouraged. Grooming will be required to ensure eye hair is trimmed back, nails cut and ears are clean. Hair in the pads of their feet should be trimmed to prevent matting and sliding on hard surfaces.

If the buyer cannot keep the above dog, at any point, the seller reserves the right to be notified ahead of time and given first purchase option or may accept the puppy for no compensation to the buyer if no prior notice is given of a problem. The seller will help find a suitable home for the dog. If the seller has to re-train the dog prior to re-homing, any funds from the sale of the puppy/dog will be used towards training and living expenses and will not be given to the owner who surrendered the puppy.

The buyer certifies that:

He/she will be the principle owner and caregiver of the puppy and that the puppy is NOT being purchased with the intent that the puppy will be used as a gift or present to any third party, including the buyer’s friends and family.

The puppy will receive scheduled vaccinations and annual checkups or the warranty is void.

And that the puppy will be spayed or neutered within 24 months of purchase, but not before one year of age. The buyer understands that this dog is not intended for breeding. The buyer agrees to send proof of the procedure. If this dog is used for breeding, $5000.00 is payable to the seller at time of first litter and the dog is to be immediately spayed.

Remarks: Please watch puppies around water like you would a child. Not all dogs can swim when young.

One of the highlights of breeding Doodles is to hear how well the puppies are doing in their new homes. Please keep in touch; letters and photos are always welcome. We hope you will enjoy many years with your new family member. Questions regarding your pup are always welcome.
